Description: It is a large perennial with bold, leathery, serrated-edged leaves and clusters of many pendulous pale-green exquisite cup-shaped blooms which open in winter and last until early spring.

Flower: This species has flowers the colour of 'Granny Smith' apples, set against spiny, evergreen foliage. The flowers appear in winter, and remain on the plants for a long time.
Position: Full sun to dappled shade. Moist, well-drained, humus rich soil. Drought tolerant once established.
Prune: Prune old leaves in spring after new shoots make an appearance.
Feeding: Fertilize with well balanced fertilizer in spring, mulch annually in the fall with compost, leaf-mold or composted manure.
