Cotinus coggygria ( Smoke Bush )
Description:
Small tree with 3" rounded green to rich purple, almost black foliage. The name Smoke Tree comes from the lavender to purple plume-like panicles that form in summer, producing "poofs of smoke." Airy clouds of purplish red "smoke" in summer lend an exotic air. Unusual accent or specimen.
