Clivia miniata
Description: Clivia miniata is a wonderful shade-loving plant. Its bright orange flowers are guaranteed to lighten any part of a shady corner of the tropical, sub tropical and warm temperate garden. They need a frost-free climate to grow well.
Botanical Name: Clivia miniata
Common Name: Bush lily
Height: 45cm x 30cm.
Foliage: They are grown for their thick strap-like deep green leaves, which can burn if grown in the sun.

Growth Habits: They are evergreen perennials from low-lying woodland areas, often by streams, and are distributed widely in eastern South Africa.
Fertilizer: A generous amount of slow release fertilizer (such as Osmocote) applied regularly from early spring to mid summer achieves maximum growth. If they are reluctant to flower they can be given a high phosphorus fertiliser
