Banksia marginata

Description: Banksia marginata is one of the most variable banksias found in south-eastern Australia: variable in habitat, from coastal to upland forests

Common Name: Silver Banksia Family: Proteaceae Height: 5-8m

Foliage: The leaves are dark green on top and silver underneath which forms an attractive contrast.

Flower: The bottlebrush shaped flowers are yellow and born on spikes 4 to 10cm long and 3 - 5 cm in diameter. Flowering is in spring and summer.

Growth Habits: Distribution: Coastal heaths, forest and woodland in New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia.
